LSMerriment: 12 Brewers of Christmas
For the month of December, we’re celebrating “25 Days of LSMerriment.” In other words, we’re sharing 25 great holiday local store marketing ideas to inspire you this season and help drive sales!
Today, we’re sharing a really fantastic idea from Meadhall in Cambridge, MA. This bar and restaurant boasts over 110 tap handles, and on Thursday, December 18, they turned the taps over to 12 coveted craft brewers for an event in which ALL proceeds benefitted Toys for Tots.
Additionally, they accepted cash donations at the door, held a beer-lovers silent auction (items such as limited-edition beers and “brewer’s baskets” were up for grabs), and collected new/unused toys for Toys for Tots. To make Meadhall even more of a super star, during the 12 days leading up to the big event on the 18th, they tapped 1 keg a day from the participating breweries and 100% of the proceeds from that keg were donated to Toys for Tots.
We love this idea. It’s focused on one charity (always the best way to make a big impact), spread over several days to gain momentum, and taps into their customers’ main interest: limited-edition beer. It’s a win-win-win for Meadhall, the customers and Toys for Tots. Way to go, Meadhall!
