For the month of December, we’re celebrating “25 Days of LSMerriment.” In other words, we’re sharing 25 great holiday local store marketing ideas to inspire you this season and help drive sales!

Today, we’re sharing a fun idea from Roofer’s Union, a bar and restaurant in Washington, D.C. They’re capitalizing on the tacky/ugly holiday sweater craze this season by hosting a Ugly Sweater Party! They’ll award prizes to customers wearing the best sweater, best tie and best socks.

What’s even better is that they are partnering with 15 local breweries to showcase their holiday beers – gotta love that cross promotion! And, for every customer that brings a toy (valued at $10-20) to donate to the Mary’s Center Toy Drive, Roofers Union will give you your first beer for free. We’re covering all the high points here: seasonally/culturally relevant theme, supporting local businesses and charities and having fun with your customers. Awesome!
