Today’s great idea comes from Camargo Trading Company in Cincinnati, OH. Camargo Trading Company is a boutique specializing in home decor, jewelry and gift items. They are always beautifully decorated for any holiday, especially Christmas. As customers enter the store, they’re greeted by this beautiful display, and the welcoming scents of a holiday candle, freshly baked cookies, and hot apple cider:

Aside from being delicious, the treats encourage you to come in, stay awhile and enjoy yourself- almost as if you are visiting someone’s home and not a store.

This is a simple idea that you can make work at your small business – regardless of what you sell! Cookies and hot cider are inexpensive ways to make your customers feel welcome and warm during the chilly winter months.
