Tools for Tomorrow: Spring Marketing Ideas
We know, we know – the first day of Winter isn’t even until Tuesday, December 21, and here we are talking about Spring. But, you know we like to plan ahead over here at LSM Guide! Getting a head start on planning your Spring promotions is a great way to spend some of your downtime as the holidays come to a close.
There are several symbols and events that people associate with Spring, and we’ve got a few ways for you to incorporate them into your marketing plan for this season!
Flowers and Gardening
The Spa at the Boar’s Head Inn in Charlottesville, Virginia regularly offers its clients seasonal specials and packages. We love this idea for a spring spa day:
Martha Jefferson Girlfriend Getaway Day Package
Building on Thomas Jefferson’s horticultural interests and incorporating the use of both organic herbs and florals, this premier package combination would be Martha Jefferson’s recipe for reducing stress and restoring balance.
As everything blooms, what a fun idea to focus on bringing the outdoors inside!
Now is the perfect time to reintroduce your customers to your outdoor dining (or drinking) scene! How about creating some fun sunny day specials (“Every day the temperature is above 50 degrees, enjoy half priced appetizers!”) If you own a retail shop, why not group new spring items together to make shopping easy? And while the weather may be warmer, spring showers are still likely, so don’t forget the cute umbrellas and rainy weather accessories!
There’s a lot going on in the world of spring sports! College basketball tournaments (aka March Madness), Spring training and the kickoff of the regular season for baseball, and NHL hockey comes to a head in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Your bar or restaurant could be the perfect place for your customers to watch all the games – offer specials, decorate, and create fun brackets for your customers to participate in.
For many, the Spring season often conjures up feelings of renewal and starting over. After all, flowers are blooming, cute little chicks and ducks are being born, and there’s a sweet freshness in the air. So, why not incorporate those same sentiments into your retail or restaurant storefront?
Here are a few easy ways to embrace the Spring season:
- Literally refresh your store front and interiors! Don’t worry about spending a ton of money – a new coat of paint and some fresh flowers should do the trick. You could even rearrange the interior of your store – give it a little “face lift!”
- Hold a “Spring Cleaning” sale at your retail location to unload leftover Winter merchandise – this way you can make room for new Spring and Summer items.
- Invite customers, friends and family to a Spring Fling party at your restaurant or retail location – showcase your new Spring menu or product offerings, and sample, sample, sample!
