LSMerriment: Holiday Storytime

For the month of December, we’re celebrating “25 Days of LSMerriment.” In other words, we’re sharing 25 great holiday local store marketing ideas to inspire you this season and help drive sales!

Today, we’re sharing a quick and easy idea from Barnes & Noble. Last week, they announced the calendar for their free holiday storytime events, taking place at their locations across the country throughout December. The calendar includes Grinch Storytime, Hanukah Storytime, Polar Express Storytime, Holiday Classics Storytime and Elf on the Shelf Storytime.  While specific times vary from location to location, each storytime will offer fun activities for children, special guests and takeaways. Plus, Barnes & Noble Café is offering $1 hot chocolates to all storytime attendees!

This would be a fun and easy thing for a children’s book, toy or clothing store to set up for the month of December. You could even encourage children to dress up in costume, or set up crafts for them to complete after storytime. Plus, the events are a great way to sell some of your favorite holiday books, toys or merchandise!
