The National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C. is heralded as “The Nation’s Greatest Springtime Celebration” and draws over 1 million visitors each year. The National Cherry Blossom Festival commemorates the 1912 gift of 3,000 cherry trees from Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo to the city of Washington, DC. The gift and annual celebration honor the lasting friendship between the United States and Japan and the continued close relationship between the two countries. This year, it’s taking place from March 20 – April 12, and everything in D.C. is coming up pink – celebrating the color of the Cherry Blossoms.

We spotted this eye-catching seasonal display at The Dog Park, a pet boutique in Alexandria, Virginia.

Cherry Blossom Festival Shopping

Even though The Dog Park isn’t located near the Tidal Basin (where the trees are planted in D.C.), this small business is taking advantage of the large number of both tourists and residents that will be looking forward to celebrating the blooms.

These dog toys will make a perfect souvenir from the festival. We also love their window display.  What a fun way to make your business stand out and be locally relevant!
