Employee Appreciation Day
Did you know Employee Appreciation Day is on Friday, March 6? And research shows that employees that feel appreciated are more likely to be engaged employees – employees that are committed to the success of your business. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to make your employees feel important! The good news is, it doesn’t have to cost much time or money to celebrate Employee Appreciation Day!
Ideas for Celebrating Employee Appreciation Day
Food
Everyone loves free food! Treat your employees to baked goods and coffee in the morning, a catered lunch, and afternoon treats and coffee for a little pick-me-up. If you run a restaurant, bar or cafe where food is omnipresent, treat your staff to treats they don’t usually get on the job, or – offer a special employee meal that day. And when all else fails, everyone loves cake and ice cream!
Time Off
Some businesses celebrate Employee Appreciation Day by closing their businesses early so that their employees can enjoy a paid half day off. If that doesn’t work for your business model, how about offering them an extra break, a long lunch break, or comp time to use on another day? Time off is a great way to say thanks!
Gift Cards
While gift cards might seem impersonal, they allow your employees to spend money how they want to. You can offer generic gift cards (by Visa, MasterCard or American Express) that can be used anywhere or tailor your gift card purchases to each employees’ preferences.
Personal Notes
Write each employee a personal note to tell them what their contribution to your business means to you. It may seem like a small gesture, but to some it can be the boost they need to continue doing a great job.
