The Super Bowl: Great Local Marketing Opportunities
With the Super Bowl only 10 days away, the hype surrounding all the commercials and advertisements is starting to build. And as Alaska Airlines showed us, it’s a great opportunity to be local.
Immediately after the Seattle Seahawks won their game against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, Alaska Airlines tweeted this to their followers on Twitter:
The Seattle-based airline created a simple promotion to unify the city around their Super Bowl-bound team. Even if you don’t follow football, who doesn’t like a free drink?
For many, the Super Bowl means parties at their neighbors’ houses or going to their favorite sports bar and lots of good food and beer. How can your business capitalize on the big game? Luckily, it doesn’t take much time or effort to have a little fun with your customers in honor of the Super Bowl!
- Offer specials to customers who come in wearing their team’s jersey
- Create catering specials for folks hosting a Super Bowl party at their house
- Take “bets” on who will win by creating a fishbowl for each team by your POS. Customers can drop a business card in their team’s jar for a chance to win a special offer.
