Restaurant Week: Driving Sales During Slow Periods
Many cities around the world are now hosting Restaurant Weeks. In the Washington, DC area, DC Restaurant Week is winding down and Alexandria Restaurant Week is kicking off.
Typically you’ll find these weeks sponsored by Restaurant Associations or city organizations. And they tend to fall on slower periods for the city…in this case the winter dull of January, with another one in August, a quiet and hot time in the DC area. Restaurants participating offer a prix-fixe menu for a certain price. Both events have booking through Open Table.
As a restaurant, this is a great way to drive sales during your slower period and draw in newcomers to try out your restaurant. And while it may be prix-fixe at a reduced price, make sure you put your best food forward from the food to ambiance to staff. This is your chance to hook turn new guests into loyal regular customers.
If your town or city doesn’t have a Restaurant Week, consider putting one together or approach your local chamber or neighborhood association to help.
