Some businesses set-up their Holiday decorations and offerings by the first of November. Department stores will have fully implemented their Holiday promotions, gift offerings and decorations for Christmas before Halloween.

Their aim is to be “first” to offer Holiday offerings in hopes of kickstarting sales.

Think about the need state of your customers. The time between Halloween and Thanksgiving, for the majority of the population is not when they are in the mindset to shop for Christmas. They are thinking and preparing for Thanksgiving, not the Holiday season.

(If your store sells Thanksgiving-related items – of course, you should set-up and decorate for that Holiday.)

Call us old fashioned but we think the right time to launch your Holiday promotion is the day after Thanksgiving.
