Be The Expert
Customers are coming to you because they know (or, at least, hope) that you can help them get what they want – whether that be a good bottle of wine, a new TV or a great cup of coffee. They are, in some ways, looking to you as an expert in your industry.
At a minimum, you and your employees should know when the business began when you moved into this location, and how many locations there are total. Everyone should know what products you generally carry, what products you do not sell, and any specials or promotions that are currently running. Curious customers ask these questions.
Take it up a notch by staying up to date on trends in your industry and the local news within your community. Customers will appreciate being able to count on you as an expert resource!
