Good LSM: First Lady Inspired Desserts

In Be Calendar Relevant, Be Locally Relevant, Drive Traffic, Good-Bad LSM

Tomorrow’s the 4th of July, and many small businesses are showing their patriotic spirit by promoting new items or services, special offers or hosting events for their customers, neighbors and employees. Summer holidays provide a great opportunity for businesses to boost sales and generate buzz.

We spotted a fun promotional idea earlier this week from RareSweets, a dessert company in Washington, D.C.:

4th of July Bakery Marketing

Here’s why we love this twist on the traditional patriotic (read: red, white and blue) goodies you see this time of year:

  • It’s the perfect twist on the traditional patriotic (read: red, white and blue) goodies you see this time of year. Instead of blending in, they’re choosing to stand out!
  • The promotion stays true to their brand. As noted on their website, “RareSweets is a DC-based dessert company that is reinterpreting many of America’s heirloom baking recipes.” These First Lady inspired desserts are no exception!
  • These sweets are locally relevant! In D.C., you’d be hard pressed to find a building, street, park or business that hasn’t seen its fair share of history. So, in a way, these goodies are giving us a delicious history lesson.

How are you celebrating the 4th of July (or other summer holidays) with your customers, neighbors and employees?
